The Golden Girls of Mambo Miles

My Mi Cocina story involves four of my dearest friends, ones I’ve known since middle school in Dallas. Although I moved away after ninth grade at Hillcrest High School in 1979, we all kept in touch, and when I moved back in 2017, we settled on Mi Cocina as our place to get together, laugh, celebrate, and reminisce. We’re now in our early 60s, and we’ve run the Mambo Miles race in 2022, 2023, 2024, and last year. All of them, we call ourselves the Golden Girls, know my favorite drink in the entire world is the Mambo Taxi. One of them even made me a laminated punch card with every Mi Cocina location listed, including Houston and Tulsa. I plan to visit them all.
