Mi Cocina Recognized Among Dallas’ Most Historic Restaurants

In a recent feature highlighting Dallas’ most historic restaurants, Mi Cocina was named among the city’s enduring culinary icons. From steakhouse legends to neighborhood staples, the list celebrates the restaurants that have stood the test of time, and we are honored to be included.

Since opening in 1991, Mi Cocina has become part of Dallas dining tradition. The now-iconic Mambo Taxi helped reshape the city’s margarita scene, while sizzling fajitas and classic Tex-Mex favorites continue to bring generations of guests back to the table. What began as a 12-table restaurant in Preston Forest has grown to more than 20 locations across North Texas, all rooted in the same commitment to quality and consistency.

To be recognized alongside some of Dallas’ longest-standing institutions is something we do not take lightly. We are grateful to our guests who have made Mi Cocina part of their celebrations, traditions, and everyday meals for more than three decades.
